Canary Islands Descendants Association's membership, with full voting rights, shall be available to all natural descendants of the original sixteen families who were commissioned by the King of Spain to emigrate from the Canary Islands to found, in this northeastern frontier of Nueva España, the Villa de San Fernando, which became the City of San Antonio, and having arrived on March 9, 1731 for that purpose. Members who genealogically-documented descendants of one, or more, of the sixteen Canary Islands families are qualified to be descendant members of the Canary Islands.
