On the website's page called "Regalia"... the General Society of the War of 1812 has the year of it's founding displayed as 1894. On the website's page called "Precedence" however, the year of it's founding is listed as 1854. Is this a typographical error? Which date is correct? Can this be corrected? Hello, Nathaniel. Nathan Murphy passed your contact information on to me this morning. I’m checking on a name in the gateway ancestor list to see if you were aware of it and if it was being accepted for lineage societies. Gary Boyd Roberts first told me about this name before his RD900 edition came out a few years ago. The name is Ralph Jopling of Virginia. He has several lines back to King John by illegitimate son Richard Fitzroy of Chilham, Kent. Ralph Jopling is also an ancestor of my father’s. Ralph was a last minute appearance in the new RD900 so I just wanted to run this past you. Also, I am very familiar with your work from reading soc.gen.med when I was a member. I’m a semi-professional genealogist myself but don’t have time to do it full time these days with my business. Brice Clagett was a cousin of my maternal grandmother and they shared Thomas Ligon as a gateway ancestor with Gary B. Roberts and John Ravilious. John and I also share descent, through my father, from William Farrar. My maternal grandmother was also descended from Diana Skipwith by her youngest daughter Elizabeth Dale Rogers and I understand, through her, I share Sancha de Ayala as an ancestor with you and Todd Farmerie who I am acquainted with as he teaches at university just a couple hours from where I live. I’m fluent in Spanish having grown up in a bilingual area and studying the language in university so have been reading the Ayala family history by Don Fernan Perez de Ayala. Todd and I were working on the possible royal links of the Carrillo family but haven’t gotten very far and it’s been a while since we’ve conversed. Hopefully something will come of further research. ⤢

Greetings, Recent research published in the New England Historic Genealogical Society Register has resulted in a bloodline from Magna Carta Barons down to Rudolphus Elmes of Scituate, Plymouth Colony, modern day Plymouth County, Massachusetts, USA. The research can be viewed in the Summer 2022 publication of the Register. I believe this should qualify Rudolphus Elmes as a Gateway Ancestor. Thankyou for considering this proposal. ⤢
