<p>Membership is extended to men and women 18 years of age or older who are direct lineal descendants of an ancestor who was a resident, owned land, conducted a business or trade, or performed military or civil services prior to 31 December 1699, within the boundaries of present-day Cape Cod, Elizabeth Islands, Martha’s Vineyard or Nantucket.</p>
<p>The following is a partial list of acceptable activities for eligibility:</p>
<ol>
<li style="list-style-type: none;">
<ol>
<li style="text-align: left;">Ancestor resided and/or owned land in what is now Cape Cod, Elizabeth Islands, Martha’s Vineyard or Nantucket.</li>
<li style="text-align: left;">Ancestor engaged in trade or commerce in what is now Cape Cod, Elizabeth Islands, Martha’s Vineyard or Nantucket.</li>
<li style="text-align: left;">Ancestor established a trading post in what is now Cape Cod, Elizabeth Islands, Martha’s Vineyard or Nantucket.</li>
<li style="text-align: left;">Ancestor engaged in some of the initial surveying and exploring activities in what is now Cape Cod, Elizabeth Islands, Martha’s Vineyard or Nantucket.</li>
<li style="text-align: left;">Ancestor served as a court judge hearing cases pertaining to what is now Cape Cod, Elizabeth Islands, Martha’s Vineyard or Nantucket.</li>
