<p>Membership requires lineal descent from A law enforcement officer, peace officer, or any public-sector employee or agent charged with upholding the peace and empowered to arrest criminals.</p>
<p>The following are the eligibility categories for active members who have attained the age of eighteen (18) and whose lineal ancestors served before 1861 in one of the following categories:</p>

<li>High Sheriff</li>
<li>Under Sheriff</li>
<li>Deputy Sheriff</li>
<li>Constables</li>
<li>High Constables</li>
<li>Lesser Constables</li>
<li>Marshals, as of 1835 Corps of Rangers in Texas</li>
<li>High Sheriffs in Arizona and New Mexico as of 1846</li>
<li>Bailiffs</li>
<li>Night Watch</li>
<li>Deputy</li>
<li>Jailers</li>
<li>Gaolers</li>
<li>Conservator of the peace</li>
<li>Prison Guards</li>
<li>Detectives (not private)</li>
<li>Police Officers (Boston, New York, Philadelphia, et al)</li>
<li>Correctional Officers</li>
<li>Customs Officers</li>
<li>Immigration Officers</li>
<li>Court Officers</li>
<li>Probation Officers</li>
<li>Parole Officers</li>
<li>Auxiliary Officers,and all the deputies of the above.</li>
