Membership in the National Society Children of 1812 is available to children or youth under the age of 22 years who can offer satisfactory proof that they are lineal descendants of an ancestor who, during the period of 1784 through 1815 inclusive, rendered military, naval or civil service to the United States of America, rendered material aid to the U.S. Army or Navy, or who participated in the Lewis and Clark Expedition.
Service includes, but is not limited to the following:
Membership in the National Society shall be by application, and applicants are required to have the endorsement of two members of either the General Board or Senior General Board of the National Society.
