<p>Membership is available in two classes:</p>
<ol>
<li>Membership as a Descendant of the Conqueror is open to those who can demonstrate unbroken descent from William the Conqueror and his wife Matilda of Flanders.</li>
<li>Membership as a Descendant of the Companions is open to those who can demonstrate unbroken descent from one of the 39 known companions of William the Conqueror at the Battle of Hastings.</li>
</ol>
<p>All descent must be proven with full citations. The Society of Descendants of the Conquest is a subsidiary of The Augustan Society</p>
