Membership is extended to men and women 18 years of age or older who are lineal descendants of an ancestor from any area which later became part of the continental United States of America who worked in a field of mining 1607 through 1907. Also eligible for membership are men and women 18 years of age or older who lineally descend from a brother or sister of any proven ancestor.
The following is a partial list of acceptable fields related to mining: Gold, Coal, Silver, Aluminum, Copper, Tungsten, Iron, Gypsum, Lead, Radium, Salt, Tellurium, Gas, Oil, and Gemstones.
Others: people who work on trains, owners/investors/ and supervisors of mines, people who worked in mercantile establishments in mining communities provided it can be proven these occupations were directly related to mining.
