He married the former Lina Maria Ferreira Lameiro. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nuclear Engineering at MIT, Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering at Stanford University and a Master of Science in Management at Sloan School of Management, MIT. David is currently retired after a long career as a Nuclear Safeguards Engineer and Management Consultant.
