Her mother Lois Nunnally Gallagher was also born in Bogart and her father Martin R. Gallagher was born in Boston, Massachusetts. They met at a USO dance in Charleston, SC during WWII ~ one dance and the rest was history.

She attended college in Jacksonville where she studied speech, drama, history and world geography.

She was originally based in New Orleans and then Atlanta. She had the opportunity to travel the world and see many wonderful places but still contends that there's no place like home. Being a world traveler gave her the opportunity to appreciate her own American heritage. Her genealogy interest started at age 12, when she interviewed her uncle, who had been at Pearl Harbor.
