Darcie Hind Posz, Certified Genealogist®, FASG, was born in 1979 in Burlington, Iowa, to Leighton Neki Hind and Rosalind Louise Ness. She was married in 2002 in Waterloo, Iowa, to David Clifford Posz. Ms. Posz received her Bachelors in Arts (Humanistic Studies) in 2003 from the University of Northern Iowa and has resided in Washington, D.C. since 2006.
Darcie is an accomplished genealogical writer and has held a number of roles in hereditary and genealogical organizations. She has been a board-certified genealogist since 2013 and is currently the eighth Executive Director for the Board for Certification of Genealogists. A member of the Descendants of the Illegitimate Sons and Daughters of the Kings of Britain since 2013, she is also enrolled on the list of Kana‘iolowalu (the Native Hawaiian Roll Commission). In 2015, she was the recipient of the American Society of Genealogists Scholar Award. Darcie was elected the 173rd Fellow of the American Society of Genealogists in 2023.
