Lynda Aydelott Moreau, daughter of Oran A. Moreau and Paula Ruth Aydelott, was born in Winnfield, Louisiana. She is the wife of Shannon R. Walgamotte and the mother of two grown children. A History Major at the University of New Orleans with specialties in the War Between the States and Victorian England, Ms. Moreau became an antiques dealer by trade and owned and operated a busy estate sale company in the New Orleans area for over a decade. A professional singer, she was hired after an open audition by the New Orleans Opera Company and sang in over 40 of their productions. She was also engaged as a salaried soloist for several prominent churches in the New Orleans area for many years.
In addition to the many lineage societies she holds membership in, Ms. Moreau is a Sustainer in the Junior League of New Orleans, a member of MENSA, a Grande Dame of Ethiopia, and a Dame Commander of the Holy Sepulchre. She is involved in many historical, genealogical, cultural, preservation and fine arts societies and is an active member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in New Orleans.
